LOVE and TIME

I got this beautiful story in my mailbox as i was cleaning it of my old files. Before I deleted this email, i decided that this deserves to be shared… read on! LOVE AND TIME Once upon a time… there was an island where all the feelings lived; happiness, sadness, knowledge, and all the others, including love. One day, it was announced to all of the feelings, that the Island paradise was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean. So all of the individual feelings prepared their boats to leave. Love was the only one that stayed. She wanted to preserve the island paradise until the last possible moment. When the island was almost totally under water, Love decided it was time to leave. She began looking for someone to ask for help. Just then, 'Richness' was passing by in a grand boat. Love asked, "Richness, Can I come with you on your boat?" Richness answered, " I'm sorry, but there is a lot of silver and gold on my boat and there would be no room for you anywhere." Then Love decided to ask 'Vanity' for help, who was passing in a beautiful vessel. Love cried out, "Vanity, help me please." "I can't help you", Vanity said, "You are all wet, and will damage my beautiful boat." Next, Love saw 'Sadness' passing by. Love said, "Sadness, please let me go with you." Sadness answered, "Love, I'm sorry, but, I just Need to be alone now." Then, Love saw 'Happiness'. Love cried out, "Happiness, please take me with you." But Happiness was so overjoyed, that he didn't hear Love calling to him. Love began to cry. Then, she heard a voice say, "Come Love, I will take you with me." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed, that she forgot to ask the elder his name. When they arrived on land the elder went on his way. Love realized how much she owed the elder. Love then found 'Knowledge' and asked, "Who was it that helped me?" "It was Time", Knowledge answered. "But why did Time help me — when no one else would?", Love asked. Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and sincerity,answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is." ****
Romeo and Juliet
In a perfect world, religion is meant to unite people. Its end goal is the attainment of peace and joy. Oh well… hope is all i ever have. I was cleaning my inbox of old emails and I found this series of correspondence between me and a girl friend… at that time, she was devastated coz she had to part ways with her beloved due to…. right, religious differences. To protect their privacy, i'll name them after Romeo and Juliet. I also omitted the name of their respective religions. Read on: (My email to Juliet):
Hi Juliet— i'm sad, sad, sad Hay…, How I wish, every love affair has a happy ending… But then again, all great love stories in history have sad endings… But I still believe in the power of love… And what the bible says– "… And the greatest of them all is LOVE" will triumph once again… (Juliet's reply):
Sigh! Sad but true. Romeo and I are no longer together but we ended up as good friends. We still communicate and sometimes go out. Well, that's life and we have to move on. Things happen for a reason. We leave everything to God coz we believe He knows what 's best for us. Romeo and I may leave each other as lovers but we will never say good-bye for we value the friendship and treasure the moments we shared each other. Thanks Jo. You saw how our love story bloomed. Kasama ka pa din on how it ended. Gosh! Baka maiyak na ko nyan. hehehehe! Anyway I hope everything is well with you. I miss you guys. Hope to see you around. (My reply):
I'm well Juliet. Thanks! Well, things could be better but have no reason to complain. I have already learned the art of gratefulness I wish you and Romeo well for the different paths you are now treading… I admire you both for standing up and standing firm for what you believe in… And actually fighting for it. Di madali ang ginawa nyo. For that single deed alone, the major beneficiaries will be your respective religion. Religion A and Religion B should really be proud of you! You're both young and nobody knows what the future will be… Who knows di ba? Baka as the two of you age– mag-iiba na din ang pananaw nyo sa buhay-buhay, including beliefs and religions. And may be, and here– I am praying– you'll both see the light, meet half-way, and let love triumph! O di ba??? Talaga namang engrossed ako sa story nyo hahaha But seriously, as you said, everything happens for a reason and whatever the ending will be, I am praying that both of you will have no regrets later on pag matanda na kayo at nagmumuni-muni sa pangyayari sa buhay nyo… God bless you both. huhuhuhu! kaiyak naman. We'll never know, Romeo might decide later on to convert to my religion. hehehe! Wishful thinking. I just hope am still available. hahahaha! You know am not getting any younger. Already 29 and still single. Gosh! I don't want to be an old maid. Sayang ang beauty ng lola. hahaha! Oh well, am sure God has plans for the both of us.
